Helpful Tips for Using Your Automatic Litter Box

To ensure the best performance and a happy experience for both you and your cat, please follow these simple guidelines:

Allow Space Around the Machine:
Make sure there is at least 8–10 cm of space between the litter box and any walls or nearby objects on all sides. This helps the sensors and moving parts work properly.


Place on a Flat, Hard Surface:
Always place the litter box on a flat and stable surface — not on rugs, carpets, or uneven flooring.


Mat Placement:
If you're using a cat litter mat, please place it in front of the machine, not underneath it, to avoid any interference with its operation.


Wi-Fi Connection:
Ensure your home Wi-Fi is set to 2.4GHz or 5GHz.


Monthly Deep Cleaning:
For hygiene and smooth functioning, please deep clean the machine once a month. This includes opening the cylinder and cleaning all accessible parts.

  Purobot Ultra AI camera can recognize up to 15 cats. It creates individual health profiles for each cat, tracking their toilet frequency, duration, waste condition, and health trends separately.
  
  
• Can I place the litter box on the carpet?
  No. Always place the litter box on a firm, level surface. Avoid soft, uneven, or unstable flooring, which may interfere with the sensors and cause malfunctions. If using mats or carpets, place them in front of the unit. Leave at least 2 in (5 cm) between the device and the wall.
  
  
• Can I auto-pack the trash bag via the PETKIT App?
  No. The auto waste packing process requires users to be present next to the device. You can start the auto-packing by pressing the button on the OLED screen. The entire process includes auto-packing, auto-sealing, removal of the trash bag, and auto-bagging. Once a sealed trash bag is ready, the user needs to remove it. Auto-bagging will not initiate until the user takes out the trash bag and double-clicks the button on the screen for auto-bagging.
  
  
• Can I use a generic trash bag for auto waste packing?
  No, the auto waste packing system requires PETKIT’s exclusive refill rings. These refill rings are designed for a seamless fit, ensuring smooth auto-packing. Using generic trash bags with the refill ring may lead to malfunctions.
  
  
• How often do I need to replace the refill ring?
  The refill ring package contains 3 pieces. One piece of refill ring can pack approximately 10 times, and the waste bin can hold one cat’s waste for up to 20 days. The data was tested by PETKIT Lab based on the toileting frequency of a single adult cat. The replacement frequency depends on the number of cats in your household and their litter box usage patterns.
  
  
• How often should I pack the waste?
  Based on PETKIT’s lab results, the waste bin supports up to 20 days without scooping for one cat. However, if you live in hot and humid conditions, we recommend packing the waste more frequently according to your preference.
  
  
• Why is there a huge space in the trunk?
  The large space inside the trunk of PUROBOT ULTRA is designed to accommodate the auto-packing system. This feature requires ample room to operate effectively. The packing module is engineered to lift up during operation, ensuring proper and successful packing of waste.
  
  
• Does PUROBOT ULTRA have a weight limit?
  We recommend a minimum weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) and a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lbs) to use PUROBOT ULTRA.
  
  
• Can Kittens use PUROBOT ULTRA?
  We don’t recommend using PUROBOT ULTRA for kittens under 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) or younger than 6 months, as they might not be able to trigger the weight sensors. For small kittens above 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs), we suggest activating the Kitten Protection Mode. Auto-cleaning and periodic cleaning will be disabled in this mode to ensure your kittens’ safety.
  
  
• Is PUROBOT ULTRA safe for my cats?
  Yes. PETKIT always puts cats’ safety as a top priority. PUROBOT ULTRA features X-axis rotation to keep the entrance open at all times and is equipped with 20 high-precision safety sensors, including advanced proximity and weight sensors. The litter box immediately stops rotating when a cat enters the cylinder, and the weight sensors ensure it remains stationary while your cat is inside until they exit.
  
  
• Where should I place PUROBOT ULTRA?
  For accurate weight measurements, the PUROBOT ULTRA should be placed on a hard, level surface. Maintain a distance of at least 7 cm from walls and ensure that no objects obstruct the entrance.
  
  
• What type of cat litter should I use for PUROBOT ULTRA?
  PUROBOT ULTRA includes two sifters, compatible with most clumping cat litter. However, we don’t recommend using cat litter longer than 12 mm or wider than 3 mm.
  
  
• How can I prevent fecal streaking on the cylinder?
  PUROBOT ULTRA's new cat litter pad features a larger inner litter bed (1272 cm²) to improve clumping performance during cylinder spinning. To prevent feces on the walls, we recommend using fast- and tight-clumping cat litter rather than slow-clumping varieties. If your cats don't bury their poop or have watery poops, streaking may occur when the cylinder spins. • How do I train my cat to use PUROBOT ULTRA?
  Position the PUROBOT ULTRA where the previous litter box was located, using the same type of litter. Mix a scoop of the old litter with the new to maintain a familiar scent. Allow waste to accumulate gradually in the old box to ease the transition. To help your cat get accustomed to PUROBOT ULTRA, gently guide them inside when needed. Be patient with sensitive cats that may take longer to adapt to the automatic litter box.
  
  
• How do I update my firmware?
  The PUROBOT ULTRA firmware supports OTA (Over-the-Air) updates remotely, allowing for progressive releases and enhancements of new features. You will need to manually update your firmware through the PETKIT App.
  
  
• How does the camera rotate?
  The camera is preset to face the litter box by default. Once you adjust it to face outward via the app, that becomes its default resting position. When your cat enters, the camera faces inward to monitor litter box usage. After your cat leaves, the camera first rotates outward. When the scooping is about to start, it rotates inward to shoot clump images. Once scooping is complete, it finally rotates back to its outward-facing position.
